Specializing in "early music," San Francisco-based Con Brio has adapted several centuries of music to their all-recorder arrangements. While they primarily focus on the Renaissance and Baroque periods of the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, their repertoire includes material composed as early as the thirteenth century and as recent as the twentieth century. The four recorder players who comprise Con Brio represent diverse backgrounds. Daryl Kessler is a poet while Anne Ng holds a degree in physics. Secretary of the South Bay Recorder Society, Douglas McCoy hails from Corpus Christ and claims Cherokee (Tsalagi) heritage. Orith Portnoy is a medical doctor visiting from Israel.
