Equally comfortable on alto, tenor and soprano saxophones, as well as clarinet and flute, Chris Greco continues to explore and develop a music language anchored in the jazz tradition that references both American and European art musics. The broad palette from which he works is tempered by his simultaneous training both as a freelance musician and college trained professional with a Masters Degree in Music Composition. Balancing his time between performances, teaching and running a record label, Greco released his first album, Trane of Thought in 1996 on his GWSFourwinds imprint. An album of standards, Well You Needn't followed three years later and Pleiadian Call appeared in 2000.
