Through his imaginative playing, Chris Calabrese has brought a fresh approach to the jazz piano tradition. The resident pianist for Disney theme parks in the United States and Tokyo, Calabrese is known for his ultra-fast, New Orleans-influenced style of piano playing. Although he initially played acoustic piano, Calabrese has increasingly incorporated electronic keyboards, including the Kurzweil K2500X and the Roland MIDI. Calabrese has also worked with a Southern California-based band led by Big Mama Sue that features banjo player "Fast Eddie" Erickson and tuba player "Rockin'" Alan O'Dea. Born in the suburbs of Santa Monica, Calabrese has lived in Los Angeles, Monterey, San Francisco, and Tokyo. He resides in Las Vegas.
