Part of the widely successful progressive trance duo Cass & Slide, Cass Cutbush spent nearly a decade as a DJ before finally involving himself in production. In about a year's time, his tracks with partner Pete Martin were being spun by the likes of Sasha and John Digweed, appearing on these artists' Global Underground albums. Furthermore, Cutbush also has found success managing labels, first with Flying Rhino, then with his own label, Fire Recordings. With time Cutbush moved away from Martin and became the more prolific of the two onetime collaborators. In 2002 he contributed a volume to the Spundae Presents series of mix albums and also became known as one of the West Coast production company's resident DJs.
