Trumpeters Conte and Pete Candoli were among the best brother acts in modern jazz history. Each had extensive credentials on his own, but they teamed together from 1957 to 1962, then again in 1973 at the Monterey Jazz Festival. In addition, a nightclub act that included Pete Candoli's wife, Edie Adams, was established in 1972. The Candoli Brothers band continued to record into the early '80s. Both brothers died of prostate cancer, Conte in 2001 and Pete in 2008.
