Artist Biography by

b. George Underwood, London, England. Calvin James was the stage name adopted briefly by Underwood, founder member of the King Bees and Manish Boys with David Bowie. Underwood then came under the tutelage of Mickie Most and, as Calvin James, recorded ‘Some Things You Never Get Used To’ for Columbia Records in 1965. This emotive ballad was not a success and Underwood ceased recording. Instead he pursued a career as an artist, designing the sleeve of My People Were Fair And Had Sky In Their Hair... , the debut album by Tyrannosaurus Rex.
