Artist Biography by

Caligola is best known as a side project of two Mando Diao members, but it was actually founded as a network of artists in Stockholm back in the '70s. When Mando Diao singers/guitarists Björn Dixgård and Gustaf Norén joined the collective in 2008, they worked toward the production of a video, "Sting of Battle," which was released in December 2011. Together with drummer Oskar Bonde (from Johnossi), singer Agnes Carlsson, German DJ Paul van Dyk, and Swedish hip-hop producers Masse and Salla Salazar, they recorded an album titled Back to Earth, which was released in March 2012. The album entered the German charts at number ten, while the first single, "Forgive Forget," which had been released a few weeks earlier, managed to reach number two on the German singles charts. Caligola also appeared on one track of Paul van Dyk's album Evolution ("If You Want My Love").
