Bwamy Walumona

A guitarist and composer, Walumona moved to Kenya from Zaire and joined Baba Gaston's Baba National Band in 1975. He split in less than a year, forming Les Mangalepa and taking several musicians with him. The band was very successful over the next fifteen years until Walumona joined the Chrisco Fellowship Church and renounced pop music in favor of gospel, condemning his earlier years of drinking and womanizing.
