Brad & Shelly have been surrounded by country music for as long as they can remember. The impact that artists like Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, and Loretta Lynn had on the duo is evident in their spirited live performances and ability to appease almost any audience request. Doyce Bradley Brinkley and Janie Michelle Brinkley spent their formative years under the tutelage of their father, fiddler Emmitt Brinkley, 30 miles south of Houston, TX, in the small town of Bayton. Immersed in the scene at a young age, the two found themselves performing at churches and festivals, and eventually opening for such country music luminaries as Garth Brooks and Willie Nelson. Their debut album, 24/7, featuring songs written and co-written by the siblings, was released in July 2003.
