Forming an acoustic swing group with guitarist/vocalist Chris Griffin and bassist Paul Hormick to play a wedding in April 1994, Bill Dudley has remained a fixture in San Diego. His violin/fiddle playing can be heard playing 1930s jazz, swing, blues, and Irish and Celtic fiddle tunes throughout southern California. A native of Minnesota, Dudley moved to San Diego as a youngster. A former violin student of Chris Vitas and Elisabeth Matesky, he performed with several youth and community symphony orchestras, including the University of San Diego Symphony. He has been the recipient of numerous awards from the Julian Banjo and Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Festival in San Diego.
