This group was formed in Maidstone, Kent, England, in 1980 by vocalist Craig Stevens and guitarist Bob Jenner. This heavy metal band should not be confused with the 70s pub rock band Alkatraz (who released one album, Doing A Moonlight, in 1976). Recruiting the services of Gary Bevan (bass) and Nicko Parsons (drums), they signed to RCA Records as one of the hopefuls of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. Young Blood featured hard rock reminiscent of UFO. Unable to make a breakthrough, however, they switched to an American-sounding AOR approach with Radio 5. This drive for commercial success also failed and RCA dropped them soon after the album was released.
