Artist Biography by

Kerry Livgren (b. 18 September 1949, Kansas, USA; guitar, vocals) wasted little time after leaving Kansas before embarking on a solo career and putting together AD. Alongside Michael Gleason (vocals, keyboards), Dave Hope (bass) and Dennis Holt (drums), Livgren used the platform to peddle his new-found Christian beliefs (which had been a factor in the dissolution of Kansas). Though his solo releases also continued, Livgren proved more prolific as the leading light behind this group, who recorded in a soft rock/AOR vein. Much of the interest in this output, however, which often ventured into Yes /orchestral rock territory, was from recalcitrant former Kansas fans. That constituency would have been pleased to see the inclusion of ‘Portrait’ (drawn from Point Of Know Return, Kansas’ 1977 album) on Reconstructions. That album also saw the introduction of vocalist Warren Ham. AD should not be confused with the 90s rap/rock group of similar name.
