AllMusic Review by

Yesterday's News, Neil Hogan's third solo work, continues his high level of musicianship. This album presents arrangements of yesteryear's greatest: the music of Ellington, Gershwin, Fats Waller, Rodgers and Hart, and many others, as well as three original compositions. Some of the pieces depart a bit from the style of Neil's earlier recordings, where he mixed familiar melodies into charming medleys. Here he developed jazzier interpretations of single tunes like "Black Orpheus" and "Ain't Misbehavin'." Yesterday's News is a good mix of something old, something new.
