This set is a tie-in to the MTV reality series Tough Enough, which followed the training and tracked the dreams of World Wrestling Federation hopefuls. Musically it's pretty standard, drawing liberally from the post-grunge and alt.metal ranks. There's the Alien Ant Farm novelty "Smooth Criminal," as well as the raucous, inescapable groove of Drowning Pool's "Bodies," which works well here due to its "Let the bodies hit the floor" vocal hook. The unremarkable hard rock of Buckcherry's "Slamin'" seems included only for its title, while the Baroque metal atmosphere of Deftones' "Digital Bath" seems out of place on Tough Enough. Fans will note live contributions from Disturbed ("Stupify") and Papa Roach ("Dead Cell"); others will recognize Godsmack's "Awake" as the theme from a recent round of commercials for the U.S. Navy.
