Highballing frantic honky-tonk rockabilly from this Washington, D.C. four-piece combo. Bandleader/vocalist Ruthie Logsdon has a twang in her voice matched only by the twang in Billy Shelton's lead guitar. Of course, he is helped on two cuts by former Commander Cody guitar twangmaster Bill Kirchen. She also has the hiccups, chokes, and sobs that add true authenticity to a true country-rockabilly-torch group. The songs for the most part have a slightly offbeat sense of humor; the tearjerking ballads have an almost maudlin sensibility. They can slow it down with the best from Nashville, but Ruthie and the Wranglers do it with their own brand of twang.
