This is from the collection Sinopah. The composer's intent in this composition -- which employs "world rhythms" such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, radio waves from pulsars, geysers and mud pools, rivers, tree frogs, a bonfire with crows, water, human breathing, and a large gong (tamtam) "played in response to an inner continuum" -- is to create "corridors of perception...a way of coming to know ourselves as part of the phenomenal web." These are not your typical cozy "sounds for relaxation, " but a rich, dynamic, highly evocative soundscape that fires the imagination.
