AllMusic Review by

Mark Knopfler comes off as a modest, self-deprecating man on this 30-minute promotional interview disc, in which he discusses the writing and recording of tracks from his recently released solo album, Golden Heart. The album's musical diversity comes across clearly in Knopfler's discussions of his forays into Celtic, Cajun, and country styles, and he talks about the inspiration for songs that often reflect his experience of celebrity -- "Imelda," bout the rich, "Ruidger," bout an autograph hound, "Vie and Ray," bout paparazzi. At the same time, Knopfler downplays his own singing and writing abilities, even as the songs suggest the breadth of his talent. (Excerpts from Golden Heart are heard in between and under Knopfler's remarks.)
