Buyer, beware. Woodstock, issued by the Irish imprint Luxury Multimedia Ltd. as part of its "forevergold" series, is nothing more than a re-sequenced, slightly abridged version of Joni Mitchell's 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon. One track, "Big Yellow Taxi," perhaps Mitchell's best-known song, has been deleted, and the rest reshuffled. The tracks have been given a loud, slightly distorted mastering that sounds like it may have been taken from an LP, since surface noise and crackles are occasionally audible. It is as hard to figure how this travesty could be legal as it is to imagine anyone wanting to buy it when the legitimate Ladies of the Canyon is available.
