After their hardest rocking and least successful album Where's the Bone?, The Pursuit of Happiness did a complete turnaround and embraced their pop side with The Wonderful World of... This is the band's most sugary-sweet record, much more suggestive of the Shoes than Cheap Trick. With the exception of the unbearably loud and tuneless "She's the Devil," there is a lot to enjoy here, and the band tweaks the CD format a little by having all the songs blend together in a manner somewhat reminiscent of the second side of Abbey Road. This is not an album to be heard on random play. Highlights include "Tara," "I'm Just Happy to Be Here," and the single "I Like You."
