AllMusic Review by

This collection of tracks from female-led bands or from female solo artists doesn't present many surprises, following the same guidelines as all the volumes before it also did. Which means, briefly, that the songs are all mainstream-radio friendly, very cleanly produced, and generally on the slow and introspective side. For artists like Chantal Kreviazuk (a staple of the Women & Songs series) or fellow Canadian Suzie McNeil, who tend towards that territory already, this is fine, but when the more rocking Cliks or even Nelly Furtado or Regina Spektor are only represented this way, it's a bit unfair, and unfortunate. However, if you're simply looking for a group of similarly sounding, gentler tracks without much regard to who's singing them, Women & Songs, Vol. 11 works just fine.
