AllMusic Review by

The three CDs in this box set -- given the titles Teen Idols!, Cruisin' Songs, and Surfin' Tunes -- are packaged under the guise of the late DJ Wolfman Jack. Over half of these 30 tunes are re-recordings of tried and true radio classics. Tracks by Jan & Dean, the Hondells, and Bobby Rydell were re-recorded long after their prime. To add insult to injury, songs recorded in the '70s, "Hot Rod Lincoln" by Larry Groce, "Motorcycle Mama" by Sailcat, and "Take the Highway" by the Marshall Tucker Band, are thrown in as filler, totally disrupting the continuity of this set of late-'50s and early-'60s oldies. Please keep in mind that these 30 tracks cover three discs; that's ten songs per disc with only two that clock in at over four minutes. Don't get ripped off -- skip this.
