AllMusic Review by

Perhaps appropriately, Last Dance at Studio 54 is a sampler of 18 songs that were big hits either on the charts or on the dance floor during Studio 54's decade of existence. The compilers have not followed a chronological track sequencing -- it begins with 2 Unlimited and ends with Donna Summer -- but that doesn't really matter, since the mix more or less works as a non-stop party. There are a few songs that slow the momentum somewhat, but "Show Me Love," "I Will Survive," "Supermodel," "Take Me Home," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Be My Lover," "Looking for a New Love," "Turn the Beat Around" and "Last Dance." That lineup alone makes the record an entertaining listen, even if it doesn't ensure that the album feels like Studio 54. Still, all that matters is whether the album is a good listen or not, and it certainly is.
