AllMusic Review by

With the breakup of his quartet with guitarist George Barnes (which had become less spontaneous and more arranged during its final period), cornetist Ruby Braff was again touring as a single and free to play as he liked. On this sparse quartet record with three fine Canadian musicians (the cool-toned guitarist Ed Bickert, bassist Don Thompson and drummer Terry Clarke), Braff stretches out on ten superior standards including Cole Porter's "True Love," "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise," the obscure "After Awhile," "What Is There to Say" and "The Song Is Ended." A fine example of Braff's passionate style.
