Although this colletors' LP was issued in 1975 under Wingy Manone's name, he is only on half of the album. Side one is taken from a Town Hall concert featuring the trumpeter-vocalist on six songs with such major players as soprano saxophonist Sidney Bechet (for exciting versions of "St. Louis Blues" and "At the Jazz Band Ball"), tenor saxophonist Bud Freeman, pianist Art Hodes, trombonist Jimmy Archey and clarinetist Edmond Hall. Lively versions of "Ochi Chornya" and "Isle of Capri" are quite enjoyable. The second side is a Sidney Bechet club appearance that showcases the masterful saxophonist on four standards with trumpeter Max Kaminsky and trombonist Wilbur DeParis. This hard-to-find LP should easily satisfy Dixieland fans; the recording quality is decent.
