AllMusic Review by

Notorious rock & roll deviant Kim Fowley may go down in the history books more for his antics and role of either production or mentorship to greater stars, but the wild child has issued dozens of his own records to varying degrees of acclaim. Wildfire: Complete Imperial Recordings 1968-1969 captures Fowley in his golden hour, compiling all three albums he did for the label in a relatively short time frame. Outrageous and Good Clean Fun boast some of his most memorable hits, among them the lascivious "Bubblegum," the truly feral "Animal Man," and the softly proggy "I'm Not Young Anymore." Tucked in the back behind these two albums are tracks from Born to Be Wild, a schmaltzy instrumental record of mostly cover tunes that were hip and happening in the burgeoning psychedelic era.
