André "Doctor Dré" Brown co-wrote and co-starred (with Ed Lover) in this film, and he is not to be confused with the gangsta rapper Dr. Dre from N.W.A. The soundtrack is a rap sampler; Mary J. Blige took "You Don't Have to Worry" to number 11 on the R&B chart, and other chart entries were Jodeci's "Let's Go Through the Motions" and House of Pain's title track. But this is mediocre, formula rap, in the typically boastful, lustful, mock-angry style, and none of it is memorable.
