Of the increasing number of Hi-NRG-style mix albums surfacing in the early 2000s, Brett Henrichsen's White Party 2001 deserves notice. Though not a stunning mix by any means, Henrichsen's performance does indeed capture the essence of the "white party" scene, as he chooses tracks with a heavy emphasis on diva vocals, sensuous themes, and high bpms. It's the sort of mix that you sweat to rather than listen to, particularly since the epic track lengths don't exactly offer much excitement in terms of mixing skills. Still, Henrichsen is merely representing his affiliated scene, so if you're not a fan of the Hi-NRG sound, then it's best to avoid this since it's nothing spectacular but rather standard at best.
