AllMusic Review by

Presumably intended as something to sate fans between proper album releases, this six-song EP consists of both acoustic and live versions of songs from the previous two Incubus outings. Part of Incubus's charm lies in its eclectic production touches, so it's heartening to hear that these songs stand up quite well even when stripped of zippy electronics and gut-wrenching riffs.

In fact, WHEN INCUBUS ATTACKS's stripped-down sound serves to illuminate the more traditional songwriting aspects of the group, while the live cuts stand as a reminder of the raw power Incubus achieves when running on all cylinders. The EP is ultimately more than just a stopgap between albums; it represents two opposite but equally intrinsic sides of the band that, taken together, are what makes the Incubus approach work.
