WDAS FM Classic Soul Hits: WDAS Review

by Andrew Hamilton

Sixteen uncut classic soul oldies from the play list of Philadelphia's premiere classic soul station, WDAS FM. Included is every heart-pounding minute of Sweet Thunder's "Baby I Need Your Love Today," the Ebonys' beautiful "It's Forever," and the O'Jays' gutwrenching "Stairway to Heaven." Tack on the Futures' "Love Is Here," Michael Henderson's "Be My Girl," Heatwave's "Always and Forever," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Reason," and the Intruders' "I Wanna Know Your Name," and purchasing Classic Soul Hits becomes a no-brainer. WDAS' rich history includes famed jocks Georgie Woods, Jimmy Bishop, Joe "Butterball" Tamburro, and Jacko Henderson. Ed Bradley of 60 Minutes fame once worked on WDAS as did Philadelphia's Queen of Gospel Music and now State Representative Louise Williams Bishop.
