AllMusic Review by

Back in the early '60s clarinetist Buddy DeFranco teamed up regularly with the fine jazz accordion player Tommy Gumina. For this 1977 recording, DeFranco meets up with the accordion of Canadian Gordie Fleming in a quartet (along with bassist Michel Donato and drummer Peter Magadini). On four obscure songs by the songwriting team of Rob Adams and Al Baculis and a couple of ballads ("Lush Life" and "Here's That Rainy Day"), DeFranco and Fleming make for a compatible team. The results are not overly memorable (there are many hotter recordings available by the great clarinetist) but are pleasing and grow in interest with each listen.
