South Central L.A. boasts a lively hip-hip subculture, as well as a predictable interest in reggaeton and Mexican music. But amongst the rappers and toasters are the skatepunks, whose scene is explored semi-fictionally in Larry Clark's film WASSUP ROCKERS. Clark relies heavily on the skatecore band South Central Riot Squad to set the tone for the film, and the soundtrack functions as a nice compilation of their songs, with additional tracks by Moral Decay, the Revolts, the Remains, and the Retaliates.
