This eccentrically flavored, unrelenting Chicago house music recalls 1980s European disco mavens Yello in its off-center lyrical preoccupations, as well as its vintage synthesizer noises and old-school beats. "Overcome the Flesh" features Green Velvet, a.k.a. Curtis Jones, exhorting his listeners to repent, while "Bathroom" hints at illicit goings-on behind stall doors in the aforementioned facilities. Jones also frequently combines his impeccable dance instincts with an inspired sense of fun, as in the uplifting "Victory," a dance track turned exuberant gospel workout.
