AllMusic Review by

Vuva reminisce over the indie-noise of Chicago that existed throughout the early '90s -- a time when many had been attempting to capture the sound of Big Black, Naked Raygun, and the Jesus Lizard. Focusing more towards the latter of the three, Vuva features pounding bass leads topped off with a bleak but aggressive measure. Their vocal approach, however, remains at a spoken, muffled tone rather than rising to the explosive, belligerent tactics of their influential counterpart. Comparisons aside, the band holds their own pulse of midtempo noise fueled by a depth of angst.
