AllMusic Review by

Recorded in June 1989, this recording by the Thala Vadya Ensemble is fronted by the renowned ghatam player T.H. Vinayakaram. Amongst others, T.H. Gurumoorthy and K. Sivaraman play violin, N. Ramakrishnan mridangam and R. Baman morsing. Carnatic percussion is among the most articulate in the world and this recording's four expositions of rhythm argues most eloquently and cogently that Carnatic percussion is the most rhythmically articulate music on the planet.
