Arizona’s Enmity (Anglo-French for “enemy”) has little use for things like melody, pacing, or subtlety. Taking a cue from the Norse Berserkers who were known to rip their opponents heads from their torsos in a trance-like state of fury, the group’s impossibly brutal debut, Vomit Forth Intestinal Excrement, is a relentlessly unpleasant listen from start to finish, which is probably the way it was intended. Lo-fi with vocals that sound like stomach lining being coughed up after a bout of viral gastroenteritis, tech-heavy (as in the double bass drum locks up with the guitar every single second) and devoid of anything memorable, this is grindcore/death metal as the dark lord of whatever intended it; purely malevolent.
