For many listeners in the West this release featuring the tabla work of Samar Saha was their introduction to Rashid Khan. His rendition of the widely recorded "Yaman" was enough to signal his arrival. "Yaman," as Amitava Chatterjee wrote in the booklet notes, has "ocean-like scope." Rashid Khan's interpretation vindicates that assertion. A 15-minute version of "Kirwani" completes this lovely album.
