This is one of Denki Groove's most solid albums, with ten terrific tracks and very little of the throwaway horsing around that plagues later albums. The opening track, "Happy Birthday," is a sunny dose of acid techno that would almost be too saccharine if it weren't for the slightly out-of-tune and inappropriate lead vocal. Elsewhere, the group cooks up an amazing disco tribute ("Disco Union") laced with house beats, a strange combination of surf instrumental and techno ("Fuji-San"), and, of all things, a cover of Hot Butter's "Popcorn" that will make you rethink the original. A perfect introduction to the band, and one hot party album.
