While she was writing her novel Violin, author Anne Rice was inspired by the music of Leila Josefowicz and the violinist returned the favor with Violin for Anne Rice, a collection of Rice's favorite recordings from Josefowicz's albums augemented by a new track -- a version of Sting's "Moon Over Bourbon Street," which was inspired by Rice's Interview with the Vampire. Although hardcore classical fans may find the origins of this album somewhat suspect, they would have to agree that Josefowicz's performances have a power that make such complaints moot.
