Island released P.M. Dawn's The Video Collection a few years too late when this set hit the shelves in 1998. By that time, the band had sadly disappeared from the pop landscape. However, the collection does showcase some great videos. The collection, thus, serves as a remembrance of a band whose talent was significant and whose influence was truncated. Appropriately, it starts with its breakthrough hit, "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss," which is a very good psychedelic music video that you will not see on MTV any time soon. "Paper Doll," also from its debut album, is a stunning visual accompaniment to a standout track. At 13 tracks, P.M. Dawn's The Video Collection clocks in at a substantial 53-minute tour but is missing "Norwegian Wood," "Hale Bop Regurgitations," and "Gotta Be...Movin on Up," none of which are as essential as what is included. Nonetheless, a good way to rediscover P.M. Dawn.
