AllMusic Review by

While Used to Be: Blues From the Pacific Delta is intended as a tribute album for Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass, most of the songs included are not Monroe tunes being covered by the various bands on the record, but rather originals dedicated to Monroe's spirit. Artists present include Beth Basile & the Crackpots, the Belmont Street Octet, Jim Boyer, the Capitol Hillbillies, Lynn Connover, the Dickel Brothers, Fernando, Golden Delicious, Lynn Ann Hyde, Miss Becky Kapell, Kid Siegel, Pete Krebs, Lisa Miller, Old Jack Bloom, the Prairie Dogs, Richmond Fontaine, Sunset Valley, and Kevin Richey.
