AllMusic Review by

Though this is produced by Mega City 4 bassist Gerry Bryant, British sextet the Hairy Things sound only a little like the Megas or the punkish-pop scene they've led for years. This is unabashed, up-tempo, bouncy guitar pop, with heavy swinging-'60s overtones; only the nice crushing twin-guitar sound betrays Bryant's touch. "Make way for the rock 'n' roll star/He thinks he's got the answer to it all," mocks singer Simon, as a mild, modish organ toots with disdain. The three B-sides are similar fare: fun, crisp, light, and deceptively heavy in the guitar breaks, except for "Double 'd' Fever," the sound of Booker T. & the MGs and Mitch Ryder meeting "Theme From Shaft" the way the Charlatans wish they could.
