Ras has consistently unearthed and presented above-average reggae groups that lack audience recognition and reputation, and Psalms was no exception. This release contained 10 strong selections, with pleasant if unexceptional love songs, surging uptempo message tunes and good cover versions of "Dancing Mood" and "I Shall Be Released." As expected, the arrangements had a classic underpinning with horns and guitars playing as big a role as guitar and drums. But the trio deserved more extensive highlighting; there was no identification of its members or the lead vocalist, an inexcusable oversight since their performances are vital to the album's success.
