Another fine installment in the Underground Oldies series, which compiles outstanding vintage soul sides which were regional hits but missed the nationwide charts. Volume 4 has many memorable moments: the Manhattans teary "It's Gonna Take a Lot to Bring Me Back"; Little Anthony soundalike Timothy Wilson performs two tracks, and Lost Generation displays vocal sharpness on the wispy "I Can't Help You." Linda Jones' dramatic voice electrifies "It Won't Take Much," and she does further damage on a breathtaking remake of Ben E. King's "I Who Have Nothing." Sunny & the Sunliners' flow on the soft, rolling "Should I Take You Home," and "Let Me Love You." Choice cuts by Gene Chandler, Eddie Holman, and others round out another delightful package from ITP Records.
