AllMusic Review by

At the time of this album's release in late 2001, the one-time Luke Skyywalker was ten years removed from his popular days with the 2 Live Crew. His career had gone downhill ever since the controversy surrounding As Nasty As They Want to Be simmered. Perhaps that's why Uncle Luke Presents: Chipman and the Buckwheat Boy seems so much like a joke. To be frank, it's hard to take Uncle Luke seriously. It was hard enough to take him seriously in the early '90s when he was in the national spotlight, let alone in the early 2000s when he was still trying to bank off his controversial days with the 2 Live Crew. After all, the guy could barely keep his own career afloat, let alone "present" two new artists. You're better off steering clear of this unless you're a Luke loyalist. And even then, you might want to pass this one by.
