AllMusic Review by

Renato Teixeira is one of the modern proponents of the folkloric caipira (redneck) style of upcountry São Paulo, in spite of his middle-class urban background. The sentimental tone of his repertory is still cherished by many, even if it may sound dated to the urban youth. This album was recorded by Teixeira alone, just voice and violão. The most expressive songs are "Terra Mar e Ar" and "Marchando Al Frente" (with music by Almir Sater), a version in Spanish by Antonio Tarrago Ros. Teixeira's lyrics are simple and sensitive, celebrating nature, friendship, love, and even natural medicine ("As Plantinhas do Mato"). The music is harmonically and melodically simple, appealing to all who can recall childhood scenes in the open around a campfire.
