AllMusic Review by

There are a lot of great singles on this 1960s garage band collection, including the Kingsmen's classic "Louie, Louie," the Syndicate of Sound's "Little Girl," the Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction," and the Trashmen's ragged, garage-surf hybrid, "Surfin' Bird," but there are also a few tracks by artists that don't quite fit most definitions of a garage band, like the Sunrays ("I Live for the Sun") and Bobby Vee ("Suzie Baby"). The Dwight Twilley Band's "I'm on Fire" is also included here, and while it is a marvelous cut, it was released in 1975 and wasn't recorded in the 1960s.
