AllMusic Review by

These might not be the ultimate 16 songs of the late '60s (where, for instance, are the Beatles or Bob Dylan?), but they certainly do capture the feel of the era, with tracks like the Byrds' "Turn, Turn, Turn," Edwin Starr's "War," Thunderclap Newman's timeless "Something in the Air," and the Grass Roots' "Let's Live for Today" all capturing the sea change that was sweeping through popular culture at the time. It is difficult to imagine these or songs like Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction" outside the 1960s' frame, even if the message seems as applicable now as ever. All original recordings by the original artists.
