AllMusic Review by

Like contemporaries Gilles Peterson and Phil Asher, also featured in Trust the DJ's accomplished series of mixed albums, Patrick Forge has struck his way through London's crowded club circuit through a musical eclecticism which rejects rigidly sticking to one particular genre in favor of opening the lid of his record box to all and sundry. Forge's sophomore mix for TTDJ reflects this variety, blending Phil Asher's soulful house with more typically West London sounds from broken-beat pioneers Bugz in the Attic before shifting to samba, even finding the time for a brief excursion into jungle -- albeit in Patife's scene-shrugging mix of "Torch of Freedom." Surprisingly, considering the awesome reputation of this series, it is the mixing which lets an otherwise impressive selection down -- the particularly clunky disc-shifts that dominate the first half of the album inexcusable at this level.
