Tribute to the Titans is a novel concept, at least marketing-wise: the collection culls the best performances from the Magna Carta label's previously released tribute albums, giving consumers a way to cut through the dross that clutters most every tribute album (as well as a way for the label to repackage product for further sales). Since the artists being covered obviously vary in this format, the "tribute" aspect of the performances doesn't come off as much, but what's left is a pretty decent sampler of prog rock and progressive metal takes on material by the likes of Rush, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, and even Copland and Beethoven. Some of the bigger-name performers include James LaBrie (of Dream Theater), John Wetton, Rick Wakeman, Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple), Roy Harper, Sebastian Bach, and Annie Haslam.
