Tribute to Tagore is a collection of seven songs from the pen of Rabindranath Tagore (1860-1941), the Bengali Renaissance giant. Tagore's canon of literary masterpieces -- he won the Nobel Prize for Literature -- goes under the name of Rabindra Sangeet and here it is sung by various permutations of Suchitra Mitra, Roma Mondal and Sudeshna Mukhopadhyay. Suchitra Mitra (who was born in 1924) is an acclaimed interpreter of Rabindra Sangeet. Amjad Ali Khan's sarod choruses, copies and chases the voices splendidly. The release merited a Bengali lyric sheet with translations or synopses of the songs in English.
